Yawanawa Feitio — An Immersion in the Living Tradition of the Sacred Village
November 13–25, 2026 | Aldeia Sagrada Yawanawa, Acre, Brazilian Amazon
Instituto Nixiwaka invites you to a special Yawanawa Feitio, an immersion into Yawanawa spirituality, ancestral medicine and the living knowledge of the Amazon rainforest.
From November 13 to 25, participants will be welcomed at the Sacred Village (Aldeia Sagrada) for a journey guided by the Yawanawa family and their knowledge holders, experiencing these traditions in the territory where they have been practiced and transmitted across generations.
The Feitio: the preparation of Uni
At the heart of this gathering will be the traditional Feitio — the preparation of Uni (ayahuasca), the sacred medicine that holds a central place within Yawanawa spirituality.
Participants will have the opportunity to accompany the different stages of the preparation, from the gathering and preparation of the plants to the making of the medicine itself.
More than a technical process, the Feitio is a collective and spiritual practice. It is a moment of concentration, prayer, work and connection, carrying teachings about the relationship between the Yawanawa people, the plants and the spiritual world.
Through direct participation, guests will have the opportunity to better understand the knowledge, discipline and reverence that surround the preparation of Uni.
Inaugurating a new Feitio house
This gathering will also celebrate an important moment for the Sacred Village: the inauguration of a new Feitio house dedicated to the preparation of the Yawanawa sacred medicines.
The new space represents another step in strengthening the Sacred Village as a place for the preservation and transmission of Yawanawa ancestral knowledge.
Its inauguration will be a moment of joy and significance for the Yawanawa families, who are happy to share this new chapter with those participating in the gathering.
Learning in the heart of the Yawanawa territory
The experience will take place entirely within the Sacred Village, surrounded by the Amazon rainforest and the Gregório River.
During these days together, participants will share time with the Yawanawa community and encounter their spirituality through ceremonies, traditional teachings, stories, the preparation of sacred medicines and everyday life in the village.
The forest itself is an essential part of this experience. The plants used in the Feitio, the river, the territory and the knowledge of those who have lived there for generations are all interconnected within the Yawanawa understanding of the world.
This is therefore much more than an opportunity to observe the preparation of Uni. It is an invitation to experience the relationship between medicine, people, territory and spirituality from within the living culture that holds this knowledge.
For those who feel called to approach Yawanawa traditions with respect, presence and openness, the Feitio offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from the Yawanawa at the source of their ancestral knowledge.
