SUPPORT OUR WORK

We protect more than 187,000 hectares of Amazon rainforest, nearly 95% of it still intact, from the headwaters of the Gregório River. The strength of our culture and the strength of this forest have always depended on each other.
When you support us, you support both.

Sustainable Fish Farming

Food security is one of the pillars of Yawanawa autonomy. We're building four excavated fish ponds to reduce our dependence on seasonal fishing and guarantee a reliable source of high-quality protein for our families year-round: enough, by our first harvest, to reach all 400 people across Aldeia Sagrada and Nova Esperança. As our river cycles shift with a changing climate, this is one of our strategies for adaptation, and it opens a future source of income for our communities too. Food sovereignty and environmental stewardship can advance together.

Solar Energy

With this project we seek to expand access to solar energy systems across Yawanawa communities. Fuel is expensive, polluting, and difficult to transport by river. Clean, renewable solar energy changes that. Solar energy improves our quality of life by supporting schools, communications, internet access, healthcare equipment, lighting, and the refrigeration of food and medicines. It also advances our commitment to sustainable solutions that protect the forest and reduce carbon emissions. Donate to help us power our communities.

YAWANAWA AÇAÍ

We're developing a bioeconomy around our açaí, one of the Amazon's most valuable native species. Our intention is to build a sustainable value chain that creates economic opportunity, protects the forest, and strengthens our long-term financial autonomy. Through sustainable management, cultivation, and the expansion of our agroforestry areas, guided by traditional knowledge, we seek to generate income that's fully compatible with rainforest conservation, demonstrating that economic development and biodiversity conservation can go hand in hand.

Education

Our elders, leaders, and knowledge keepers hold what our children need to learn. Our education project creates the space for that direct transmission, combining our traditional knowledge, language, music, spirituality, and environmental stewardship with more contemporary educational tools. It's how we keep our identity and traditions alive as a living, evolving heritage, and how we equip the next generation with the knowledge, skills and confidence to protect our territory, culture and way of life.

Institutional Support

The success of our mission depends on a strong foundation. Institutional support keeps Aldeia Sagrada running day to day and funds what sits behind the visible work: coordination, financial accountability, communications, and the partnerships that carry our work beyond our territory. It's what lets us lead our own path forward, on our own terms, protecting our autonomy, our culture, and our land for our future generations.
