Join the Movement
The future of the Amazon rainforest and the future of Indigenous peoples are inseparable. Forests are disappearing at an unprecedented rate, biodiversity is under mounting pressure, and Indigenous communities face growing threats to their territories, cultures, languages, and ways of life — while meeting the most basic needs of education, healthcare, food security, clean energy, and transportation on their ancestral lands.
Instituto Nixiwaka was created from the conviction that another path is possible. Guided by Chief Biraci Brasil Nixiwaka and Putanny Yawanawa, the Institute strengthens Indigenous autonomy while protecting one of the largest and best-preserved areas of the Amazon. Its mission reaches beyond conservation: to ensure that ancestral knowledge, spirituality, culture, and the living relationship between Indigenous peoples and the forest continue to flourish for generations to come.
This mission cannot be accomplished alone. It requires a global alliance of individuals and organizations who recognize that supporting Indigenous leadership is one of the most effective ways to protect biodiversity, address climate change, and preserve humanity's cultural heritage. We invite individuals, families, foundations, companies, universities, governments, and institutions to join this movement — through financial support, technical expertise, research, education, advocacy, artistic collaboration, or strategic partnership.
The Yawanawa have protected the forest for countless generations. Today, they invite the world to stand beside them. Together, we can protect not only a forest, but a vision of humanity founded on respect, reciprocity, and harmony with life.
